Branding Refresh for Productive Co.
Productive Co. Branding Refresh Design
Rae and I worked on a trade project together after she posted about needing a little branding refresh in one of my favorite Facebook groups. She had a logo she still liked and felt fit her brand well, but she didn't have any of the other pieces like a consistent colour palette, patterns, or a design style to build business cards, pinterest graphics or guide her new website design.
We worked together to build a brand foundation where she uncovered her ideal clients, developed her brand values, and distinguishing characteristics. She loved the questionnaire that dug deep into her business allowing her to work through some areas that she was questioning. She said that going through the questions was eye opening and very helpful in her business.
LOGO & COLOURS
Everything in the presentation relates to her brand attributes (trustworthy, touch of modern, confident and energetic). It also emulates a touch of sophistication because her ideal client isn’t a new business owner, they’re more established and relate to a brand that also looks more polished, professional and established. Rae made her main logo herself, and we kept it as part of her branding refresh by simply adding on other brand elements.
The dark charcoal is the main colour of Productive Co. mixed with a touch of gold. The rest of the palate is a series of neutral colours as to not overwhelm her ideal client. All of these colours were pulled from the mood board for inspiration.
The main pattern is a line map of New York as it had a big connection to her brand. It also acts like a geometric pattern and has a really good flow/energy to it. It also brings the idea of organization and systemization in a nondescript way.
The other pattern is simply her submark repeated over and over. This comes from sophisticated, high-end brands (like Luis Vuitton for example). It brings an element of trust to your brand, and subtly reinforces the overall logo/brand.
We created a custom icon set for her to use throughout her brand and website. These were simple and geometric with mixed colors to create some depth and make them look more established.
Type + Design Materials
We chose a type that has a more traditional and established feel to it. It allows her business to look well pulled together and relates well with her ideal client.
Included in her branding refresh package, were three marketing materials to help improve her client process, or support her business. She chose business cards, pinterest templates and the icons designed above.
